Terms and Conditions

Moreton Bay Regional Council (Council) can now deliver your rate notice to one (1) email account you nominate instead of by post.

By registering to receive rate notices by email, you acknowledge you have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions below.

  1. You confirm you are the owner or person responsible for receiving the rate notice for the land on which the rates are being levied.
  2. By registering to receive rate notices by email, other official correspondence may also be sent to the same email address, instead of by post.
  3. If you are registered for BPAY View, you authorise Council to deregister you and deliver rate notices and other correspondence for the property by email instead.
  4. You agree to advise Council at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/embrc of any change in email address as soon as possible. Should you fail to do so, you take full responsibility for any charges that may be incurred due to late payment of rates.
  5. The rate notice is deemed to have been delivered once the email has been sent. You must ensure your email inbox is not full and is set to the correct filter settings.
  6. If Council receives a non-delivery receipt, the rate notice will be posted to the mailing address listed in Council’s records together with a request to update the email address with Council.
  7. If two (2) subsequent non-deliveries occur, the delivery method for the rate notice will revert to the mailing address listed in Council’s records and you will be automatically deregistered from receiving rate notices by email.
  8. If you wish to deregister at any time, you may notify Council at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/embrc. Council will endeavour to process the request within two (2) business days and a confirmation email will be forwarded to advise of deregistration.
  9. Due to processing cut-off times, requests to register, deregister or change registration details that are received near the end of a rating period may not be actioned until the subsequent rating period. If so, the upcoming rate notice will be delivered using the existing delivery method.
  10. Storage and retention of rate notices is your responsibility.
  11. You agree to the transfer of your personal information outside of Australia in certain circumstances, as described on Council’s Privacy webpage.
